Fractal Explorer is a freeware fractal generator that can produce mysterious and beautiful mathematically-based images. Not just a tool for professionals, FE can provide hours of entertainment for beginners and experts alike !
Fractal Explorer can render the classical polinomial fractal sets (like the Mandelbrot-set, the Julia-set, the Newton-set and theirs variations), 4D-complex fractals (called «quaternions»), 3D «strange» attractors, and IFS. Also, FE has many features for creation of special effects and improvement of the pictures.
We are sorry because of absence of the Help file, but simple user-friendly interface should not cause difficulties. Thanks for your interest in this software, we hope you enjoy it !

148 implemented fractal-sets, from which Mandelbrot/Julie-variation polinoms and HopAlong-like fractal orbites;
the special effects can be reached by 117 adjustable filters;
12 coloring algorithms and gradient-like palette;
images smoothing, anti-aliasing and simple post-processing;
rendering animation (AVI) by different types of the fractal changing:
change of iteration's number;
change of scale and/or coordinates;
change of Julie or parameters values;
transformations of one IFS into another;
transformations and rotations of the 3D-attractors;

Note: Microsoft Video 1 format are recommended for AVI rendering (with other formats may be different problems). Also, we has no problems with DivX codecs;
you can save the best fractal images into Windows Bitmap, GIF or JPEG files;
also you can save your favorite fractals into very small files with internal parametrical format:
*.FRS - spots for polinomial fractals;
*.FRI - spots for 2D IFS;
*.FRO - spots for fractal orbites;
*.FR3 - spots for 3D-attractors/3D-IFS;
*.FR4 - spots for quaternions;
this format is very good for transferring via email or publishing in the WEB.
